Saks Fifth Ave

Here is a n illustration I did for a cover up wall for Saks Fifth Ave department store in Phoenix, AZ

more hansel and gretel

This is Hansel, twins with Gretel, He is intense, messy, can be a bit rude, and he is silly. He is not too bright and he drives his mom crazy.

This is 8 year old Gretel, she is a shy girl so I gave her a large scarf so she can hide her face , she is quiet, and an observer, very curious, clever and efficient. She always follows Hansel around and keeps him out of trouble.

Here is Hansel and Gretel getting ready for the sweet feast!

Dinner time!

So here we are inside of the gingerbread candy house. Hansel and Gretel are waiting for the witch to make them some dinner, Hansel is so anxious, but Gretel suspects something. I thought that the witch would have a pretty house nice and tidy, except her kitchen, where everything happens. She keeps all of her secrets, poisons, potions and disgusting ingredients.
In her living room she keeps a photo collection of all the kids she has eaten, and a framed collection of children pairs of socks.

Hansel and Gretel

So, for our art intern assignment at Pixar we are doing Hansel and Gretel. We are going to be designing everything including all the characters, the environment, the color script, props, the gingerbread house... is so exciting!!
Here is Hansel and Gretel in the enchanted sugar coated forest, they are swimming in the chocolate river near the house of the witch.

Mrs Ohara

I haven't had a chance to visit San Francisco yet, I've been so busy! But here is something inspired from Gone With The Wind,
(I looooove that movie!!!! is Timeless!!!!)

sad ladies

This painting I got inspired by a scene in "Volver" by Pedro Almodovar. It is also my favorite of his films

And these are quick doodles for the painting

Celia part two (Tea Time)

This scene is when Celia and her friend were waxing the wooden floor with butter. The floor is so shiny now!

These are some quick painted variations for celia

Celia

This is inspired by a live action tv show that I used to watch when I was a kid in Spain. It takes place in Spain during the 30's the girl's name is Celia, and she has an awesome imagination, but she always gets in trouble, so then she gets sent to a nun's cathlic school... anyone that would watch that show would feel sorry for her.

This is when Celia pretended to drive her little brother in a Ford convertible. Then ofcourse the worse happens...

And this is just them imagening that they have to cross the atlantic ocean through a bridge, and they can't fall in because there is sharks and huge white whales.

ironing time!

This is my mom, she spends time talking to her cat "Perla", except when she irons clothes, since Perla is afraid of the steamy iron.

forest

I grew up near the Pyrenes in Spain, I loved going with my brother and sister to the forest right across my house, we spent most of the time there after school and weekends. We went near the river, looked for treausures, chew on licorice roots, roll down the hills....sled riding in the winter... just like Heidi from the Alps!

End of Cal Arts

So here I posted some stills from this year's film, and I aloso posted my film: Siren's Melody (for those that didn't have a chance to go to the Producer's show) and my last year film, The
Petshop.

We are graduating this Friday!!!!!! These four years here went sooooo quick!

Classic Musicals

I love classic Hollywood musicals, they're so inspiring! There's nothing like that anymore, is kind of sad.

The choo choo train!

Yesterday it was the open show. We were watching films until 5:00 am!!!!!!!!!!! So everyone is a bit exhausted. Here is a painting of a few french kids in the park riding their choo choo train!

My Dreamhouse

Welcome to my dreamhouse! Here's a tour, start from the bottom, where I've got my dining room in a lovely open space patio, go up the stairs there's my living room and library (design within reach furniture ofcourse) . Next floor it is my kitchen of course! I love cooking, so I got to have a large kitchen with plenty of countertops and tiled walls and floor (easier to clean) Then next is the bathroom, I've got an antique bath tub, and tiled walls again. go up the stairs and my room is next, lavender walls because is a relaxing color and good for feng shui. Next is the balcony with a lot of privacy, bihind there's a pool and my little garden with tropical flowers. And we get to the top where I'v got the guest's room. But on the top is my studio of course, with lots of shelves so I know where to put all those paintings and papers. Oh yeah and I almost forgot the very top of the roof is where I can spy on the neighbors, or look at the stars, the ocean and sun-tan! ( My house will be right by the ocean)
Gaudi was my main inspiration of course, his architecture it was way advanced for the time, that guy was a legend! and still is a legend!!!!

Siren's Melody

My film is done!! I can finally get some sleep! It was getting very exhausting, but can't wait 'til the open show.
A bunch of us are doing posters for our own films for the open show, so here is mine.

grace of light

We have two weeks before films are due! It's insane! Even though everyone is stressing out, a few students and I take three hours a week off to work on this project. Is kind of a nice break.
I'm designing the three graces, and this is one of them, then I want to do a painting of the three interacting.
But after films!!!!

crunch time!

Since there is really no time to do anything but films, here is some work in progress from my film.

glass!

This is a painting I did at the begining of the semester. I painted this on a 99 cent glass frame from Ikea.
