here are a few first attempt samples for my future project. I want to make a vegan Spaniard illusrated cookbook, so I have all of my recepies already, I can't wait to start now!

Pixar!

This is an oven model packet for Hnsel and Gretel I did, I wanted to make it look mean and threatening!

This was our last day, with all of our awesome mentors. The review presentation went really good, everyone had a really good pitch and then the room was opened for all the studio to peek.
It was a great experience at Pixar and I got a lot out of it!!
Now in a week I start at the apprenticeship at Disney Feauture animation so I'm pretty busy for a while :)

Vogue girl

So my internship is almost done at Pixar and we have our big presentation in 30 mins, so I'll talk about it later!!!!
here is something I did for fun.

Last week on Hansel and Gretel

This week is our last week working at Pixar on the Hansel and Gretel project, and we'll have a presentation on our last day on Friday, I'm kind of nervous there's so much to do still!

These were really early designs for Hansel and Gretel's mom, that I forgot to post, but it was fun doing these.

colorscript!

Here is the quick gouche super small pass on the color script for Hansel and Gretel.

the witch

The witch is really a monster, only a monster would be able to eat some cute kids. She wears really pretty dresses and makeup for her cover up, and she has nasty long arms like a spider wating for her pray.

Sugar discovery!

Here are some trees that are in Hansel and Gretel's forest.
The almond tree, the chestnut tree, a lightly sugar coated tree, and a completely coated sugar tree!

Hometown

This is where Hansel and Gretel live. In a field of almond trees near the Pyrenees Mountains.

IT's CHOCOLATE!

After 3 days of hunger , cold, and being lonley Hansel and Gretel just discovered the sugar coated forest

Because I love dark chocolate I made the house coated with 73% dark organic chocolate a few candy pieces and giant cookie "wood panels" and since the house is located in the sugar coated forest there is no danger that it will melt or fall apart.

In the forest

here are a few quick sketches of Hansel and Gretel spending their time in the forest for three days.

Saks Fifth Ave

Here is a n illustration I did for a cover up wall for Saks Fifth Ave department store in Phoenix, AZ

more hansel and gretel

This is Hansel, twins with Gretel, He is intense, messy, can be a bit rude, and he is silly. He is not too bright and he drives his mom crazy.

This is 8 year old Gretel, she is a shy girl so I gave her a large scarf so she can hide her face , she is quiet, and an observer, very curious, clever and efficient. She always follows Hansel around and keeps him out of trouble.

Here is Hansel and Gretel getting ready for the sweet feast!

Dinner time!

So here we are inside of the gingerbread candy house. Hansel and Gretel are waiting for the witch to make them some dinner, Hansel is so anxious, but Gretel suspects something. I thought that the witch would have a pretty house nice and tidy, except her kitchen, where everything happens. She keeps all of her secrets, poisons, potions and disgusting ingredients.
In her living room she keeps a photo collection of all the kids she has eaten, and a framed collection of children pairs of socks.

Hansel and Gretel

So, for our art intern assignment at Pixar we are doing Hansel and Gretel. We are going to be designing everything including all the characters, the environment, the color script, props, the gingerbread house... is so exciting!!
Here is Hansel and Gretel in the enchanted sugar coated forest, they are swimming in the chocolate river near the house of the witch.

Mrs Ohara

I haven't had a chance to visit San Francisco yet, I've been so busy! But here is something inspired from Gone With The Wind,
(I looooove that movie!!!! is Timeless!!!!)

sad ladies

This painting I got inspired by a scene in "Volver" by Pedro Almodovar. It is also my favorite of his films

And these are quick doodles for the painting

Celia part two (Tea Time)

This scene is when Celia and her friend were waxing the wooden floor with butter. The floor is so shiny now!

These are some quick painted variations for celia

Celia

This is inspired by a live action tv show that I used to watch when I was a kid in Spain. It takes place in Spain during the 30's the girl's name is Celia, and she has an awesome imagination, but she always gets in trouble, so then she gets sent to a nun's cathlic school... anyone that would watch that show would feel sorry for her.

This is when Celia pretended to drive her little brother in a Ford convertible. Then ofcourse the worse happens...

And this is just them imagening that they have to cross the atlantic ocean through a bridge, and they can't fall in because there is sharks and huge white whales.

ironing time!

This is my mom, she spends time talking to her cat "Perla", except when she irons clothes, since Perla is afraid of the steamy iron.
